It is fortunate that Lena and I share many of the same tastes in decoration and we have enjoyed being able to find new ways to improve the overall “look” of our home without many compromises being required on either of our parts.

We discovered a very talented silk flower woman who created several impressive displays for us at very reasonable rates!

Oh, yes, did I mention that Lena simply LOVES stuffed animals?

We had over some of Lena’s friends for a little meal on the patio.
Lena has fixed up one of the four bedrooms as her “STUDY” and uses it for doing most of her homework.
Lena is sitting on my grandparents' old cedar chest. On the extreme right is a bathroom which is open to both Lena's computer room and the front 'guest' bedroom. Actually, it is now KESHA's BATHROOM—he sleeps in that sink and his litter box is in the shower!
Tamera and Lena on the landing outside the master bedroom. Between them is our capice lamp.
After using the same very dark Taiwan veneer 'Mediterranean style' bedroom set since purchasing it in 1970, Steve decided to consider upgrading the bedroom furniture a little more elegant.

Lena and I looked and looked for a long time—and in many, MANY stores—before we made the decision to get these Ethan Allen pieces of furniture we now enjoy so much.

Lena had decided as soon as she saw this particular velvet Duvet (or, as Steve says, “bed cover”) and decorative pillows that IT was EXACTLY the one which had been calling out to her for all the years of her life.
Right after taking this photo of the bedroom, Steve decided to take a picture of the INSIDE of our walk-in closet. And, as he CLOSED the closet door, he heard a “CLICK” and realized that he had just locked Lena and himself INSIDE the closet!
To make a very LONG story SHORT, we were VERY lucky that there was a small tool inside one of the pieces of luggage inside the closet that we could use to cut a hole through the door to unlock it and free ourselves.
The worst part is Steve *KNEW* this door had the locking mechanism reversed, but in 11 years of living in this house he had NEVER CLOSED THIS DOOR—until this day! Needless to say, the replacement door will NOT have a LOCK on it!
This photo was taken from just inside our front door looking toward the rear of the house. The living room/dining area is to the left of the stairs, the family room is shown to the right of the steps, and Steve’s computer room (not shown) is to the right of the front door.
If Lena is not studying and Steve is not on his computer, the “Family Room”at the rear of the house is where we spend most of our time.
Lena shows Tamara our “oversized” couch which we had WIDENED so as to allow both of us to lay down to watch TV!
