In 1992, Mother and Mary had visited Steve in San Diego after he had retired from the Navy. In this photo, they are preparing a quantity of “twice-baked” potatoes for Steve’s freezer.
Both mother and Aunt Mary fell in love with Falco and Cody, Steve’s two German Shepherds.
One of the places they got to see on this trip was Seaport Village in downtown San Diego.
We had also gone out to Del Mar to watch the hot air balloons being launched for their late-afternoon flights inland.
And, of course, a trip to the flower fields in Carlsbad, CA to see the many acres of commercially-grown flowers was something that both Mary and Mom thoroughly enjoyed.
Dave had gotten into his own kiosk business selling various arts and crafts. In this 1994 photo he is surrounded by some of the balloons he was selling at that time.
Mom is wearing her winter hat, so it must have been during my fall trip to Ohio.
These are some of the arts and craft products that Dave and Cheryl were selling in their kiosk at that time.
Before her stroke in 1995, Mom usually liked to make a wreath and to hang it on her front door for the Holiday season.
